1. How do I get my child baptized?
When you are ready to share your Catholic Faith with
your child, please call the Parish Center for more information.
2. How do I get my child into St. Basil's School?
All incoming students are academically tested. Admission preference is given to
students whose families are registered and active parishioners of St. Basil's Parish
and who regularly attend Mass at St. Basil's Church as verified by the use of Church
envelopes. Pre-registration is required. Please call the school for more details.
3. When should I call a priest when a family member is sick?
It is appropriate to request anointing of the sick prior
to surgery and when you or a
family member is seriously ill. We would like to know about
parishioners who are
seriously ill as soon as possible after learning of a serious diagnosis
or hospital admittance. If there is an emergency and you need a priest
immediately, call 707-567-0456. A priest from one of the Vallejo parishes
is always on call, 24 hours a day, for emergency hospital or home visitation.
4. How do I arrange for communion if I am sick or infirmed?
Call the Parish Center. Communion brought to the sick and home bound of St. Basil's Parish is
administered by lay members of our Faith Community. You will be contacted within a few days.
5. What should I do if my family or someone I know needs help with food?
Call the Parish Center and ask for the St. Vincent de Paul Society on Extension 30.
Leave a message with the name and address of the family in need and someone
will return your call within 24 hours.
6. How do I arrange for envelopes to be mailed to my home?
Please call the Parish Office to arrange for collection envelopes.
7. What are the requirements for Weddings at St. Basil's?
You must schedule an appointment with a Marriage Coordinator at least six months prior to your desired marriage date. Call the Parish Center.
8. How do I request Sacramental Certificates from St. Basil's?
Contact the Parish Center. There is a small fee for each certificate.
9. How do I get my house or car blessed?
Call the Parish Center to arrange an appointment with
a priest or deacon for a house blessing. Cars are blessed on Saturday or
Sunday following mass.
10. How do I request special intentions for a Mass?
Visit the Parish Center between normal business hours. Mass intentions can also be arranged by phone
or mail. The usual donation is $10.00.
11. How do I get someone on the sick list?
Call the Parish Center. The name will remain on the list for 3 months, unless there is a request to keep the name on the list longer than 3 months.
12. How do I arrange for an annual income tax statement of contributions?
The Parish will send an annual statement to all registered Parishioners who have contributed during the previous year. Statements will be mailed in February.
13. How do I get involved in ministries or groups at St. Basil's?
Call Patty Cole, Pastoral Associate. She will answer any questions you have and assist you in getting involved in our many ministry groups. Extension 20.
14. What should I do if someone in my family dies?
Usually the mortuary contacts us, but you can call the Parish Center to arrange a meeting with a member of the Lazarus Ministry. He or she will help you plan the Vigil and Funeral Mass liturgies.
15. How do I arrange for an annulment?
Contact the Parish Center, to arrange a meeting regarding annulment. You will need a copy of your
baptismal certificate, the marriage certificate, the final decree, and a short one page narrative about
marriage, for this initial meeting.
