The St. Basil Lazarus Ministry is comprised of laity who assist our clergy in providing spiritual consolation to the bereaved of our parish by presiding at the Rite of Reception, Praying of Psalms, Vigil Liturgy, and Rite of Committal, on behalf of the deceased.  Our presence demonstrates that the entire congregation shares in their loss and offers loving support in their time of grief.

Through the Lazarus Ministry, you have the opportunity to serve your fellow parishioners in a very special way, yet it takes only a minimal commitment of your time.  Extensive training is provided, and new participants are always paired with ministry members experienced in conducting these funeral rites. For those who hesitate, we assure you the Lazarus Ministry holds for you a deeply rewarding personal experience and spiritual growth.  For further information please contact Maria Booth at 643-6742.
