Mission Statement:
“The St. Basil’s Liturgy Committee is advisory and consultative,
providing liturgical input to the pastor for his approval.
We, the committee, will foster respect for diversity,
and honor the cultural traditions of our parishioners. We
will prayerfully and proactively prepare transforming
liturgies appropriate for each
liturgical season. With respect for the history and traditions
of the Catholic Church, we will encourage flexibility
and innovation. The committee
provides liturgical education for it’s members, liturgical ministers, and
the assembly, to fully prepare them for participation
in parish liturgies.
We will endeavor to act with mutual respect and faithfulness,
and listen and offer service to one another. Guidelines
for liturgical preparation, timeframes, and expectations will be agreed
upon and adhered to by committee members and others
involved in parish liturgy.”
The Liturgy Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each
month at 7:15 p.m. and Deacon Mike Urick is the chairperson.
