Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation, (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) through which people become members of the Christian community.
Preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation provides people with an opportunity to affirm the faith into which they were baptized. To experience again and be open to the sign of God’s grace in their lives. Confirmation also strengthens our appreciation of God’s involvement in our lives by helping us recognize the action of the Gifts of the Spirit within us. It offers us opportunities to experience the spiritual strength from the Christian Community.
Confirmation Requirements:
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year process, starting in Level 7 and completing formation for Confirmation in the 8 Level- (2year Confirmation Class). Confirmation is celebrated in the 8th Level.
For youth who’ve missed the 7th and 8th Level preparations are to enter into our RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) process and complete their 2nd year in our 2 years Confirmation Class the following year. Each candidate is required to participate in a 2-year preparation program in order to receive a sacrament. (Per diocesan policy).
